Bespoke Kitchen Cabinetry Mansfield

Your dream kitchen, made just how you want it

When you get a kitchen from a big shop, all the cabinets come in set sizes. But what if your kitchen isn't a normal shape or size? At Kudos Kitchens, as professional cabinet makers, make cabinets that fit your kitchen perfectly, no matter what shape or size it is.

We're Mike and Emma, and we make kitchens for people in Mansfield and nearby places like Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, and Rainworth. We started our business in 2022 because we saw too many people getting bad kitchen work done. We wanted to do better.

Our bespoke kitchen cabinets are made just for you. We measure your kitchen and make cabinets that fit exactly right. No gaps, no wasted space, and everything looks perfect. Plus, our cabinets last a long time because we make them well.

Types of Bespoke Cabinet Projects We Do

Complete Kitchen Cabinet Systems

We can make a whole new set of cabinets for your entire kitchen. This is great if you want to start fresh and get exactly what you want. Our customer from Clay Lane chose a complete cabinet makeover and told us it "transformed our dreary old style workplace into a stunning 21st century kitchen."

Statement Island Cabinetry

Kitchen islands are really popular now. We can make you a special island that fits your kitchen and has all the storage and features you want. One of our customers in the Ravensdale area wanted a big island with lots of drawers for pots and pans, and we made it happen.

Specialized Storage Cabinets

Got lots of things to store? We can make cabinets specially designed for what you need to put in them. Like pantry cabinets for food, or cabinets for all your cooking stuff.

As Mike says, "I once made a cabinet for a customer in Berry Hill who collected teapots. She had over 20 of them and wanted a special cabinet with glass doors to show them off. It came out really nice, and she was so happy with it."

Feature and Accent Cabinets

Sometimes you want one or two special cabinets that stand out. We can make these feature cabinets in different colours or styles to make your kitchen more interesting.

Integrated Appliance Housing

We make cabinets that hide your appliances, so your kitchen looks neat and tidy. Your fridge, dishwasher, or washing machine can be covered with cabinet doors that match the rest of your kitchen.

How We Design and Plan Your Bespoke Cabinets

We Talk to You First

We always start by having a good chat with you about what you want. We come to your house and listen to your ideas. This is important because we want to make sure we understand exactly what you need.

"When Emma and I meet with clients, we spend a lot of time just listening," Mike explains. "I've been in kitchens where other companies didn't listen, and they ended up making things that didn't work for the family. We don't do that."

We Look at How You Use Your Kitchen

Different families use kitchens in different ways. Some people cook a lot, some need space for kids to do homework, some need special storage for certain things. We think about all this when designing your cabinets.

One of our clients in Warsop said: "Michael and Emma really took the time to understand how we use our kitchen. They made special low drawers so our kids could get their own snacks. Such a small thing but it's made life so much easier!"

We Measure Everything Carefully

Making bespoke cabinets means getting the measurements exactly right. We measure your kitchen very carefully, including all the tricky bits like uneven walls or weird corners.

We Show You the Design

We don't just start making cabinets. First, we show you our design ideas and make sure you like them. We can change things until you're happy with the plan.

You Choose Materials and Finishes

There are lots of choices for what your cabinets can be made of and how they can look. We help you choose what's best for you, your budget, and your home.

How We Make Quality Cabinets

Traditional Woodworking Skills

Mike has years of experience working with wood. He uses traditional methods that have been proven to make strong, long-lasting cabinets.

"I've seen too many cheap cabinets fall apart after a year or two," says Mike. "That's why we do things properly, even if it takes a bit more time."

Modern Tools for Perfect Results

While we value traditional skills, we also use modern tools that help us make cabinets that fit perfectly and look great.

Different Ways to Make Cabinets

There are different ways to put cabinets together, and each has its advantages. We can use dovetail joints for extra strength, or other methods depending on what's best for your project.

Strong Materials That Last

We can make cabinets from solid wood or a mix of materials. Each has good points - solid wood looks beautiful and lasts forever, while mixed materials can be more practical and cost less.

Quality Hardware

A cabinet is only as good as its hinges, drawer slides, and handles. We use quality hardware that works well and lasts a long time.

Choosing the Right Wood for Your Cabinets

Types of Wood We Use

We can make cabinets from many types of wood, like oak, maple, walnut, or pine. Each type of wood has a different look and feel.

Woods That Are Good for the Planet

We try to use wood from places where trees are grown sustainably. We can also use local wood to reduce environmental impact.

Beautiful Wood Features

Some wood has beautiful grain patterns or knots that make each piece unique. We can choose wood with special features if you want your cabinets to stand out.

Wood That Stands Up to Daily Use

Kitchens are busy places, and cabinets need to be tough. We choose woods that can handle spills, bumps, and years of opening and closing.

Cost Differences

Different woods cost different amounts. We can work with your budget to find the right wood for your project.

Finishing Your Bespoke Cabinets

Hand-Painted Finishes

If you want coloured cabinets, we can paint them by hand. This gives a beautiful finish and lets you have any colour you want.

Natural Oil and Wax

For a more natural look, we can use oils and waxes that protect the wood but still let you see its natural beauty.

Staining to Change the Colour

We can stain wood to make it darker or to match other wood in your home. This changes the colour but still lets you see the wood grain.

Special Effects

Want something different? We can do special effects like distressed finishes that make the wood look older, or other unique looks.

Long-Lasting Protection

We always add a protective top coat to keep your cabinets looking good for years. This protects against water, stains, and damage.

Examples of Our Bespoke Cabinet Work

The Fisher Family's Kitchen in Rainworth

The Fishers had a small, awkward kitchen with a sloped ceiling. Normal cabinets wouldn't fit properly. We made custom cabinets that fit perfectly under the slope, using every bit of space.

"We never thought we could have so much storage in our small kitchen," said Mrs. Fisher. "The cabinets fit like they were always meant to be there."

Solving Problems for the Browns in Edwinstowe

The Browns had a large kitchen but needed special storage for Mr. Brown's wine collection and Mrs. Brown's baking equipment. We designed cabinets specially for these needs, including a temperature-controlled wine cabinet and special drawers for baking sheets and tools.

Unique Design for the Patel Family

The Patels wanted their kitchen to reflect their Indian heritage. We made cabinets with special carved details and integrated a space for their traditional cooking equipment.

Common Questions About Bespoke Kitchen Cabinetry

How much does bespoke kitchen cabinetry cost?

Bespoke cabinets cost more than off-the-shelf cabinets because they're made specially for you. The exact cost depends on the size of your kitchen, the materials you choose, and how complex the design is. But remember, bespoke cabinets are an investment that adds value to your home. We always give a clear quote before we start work, so there are no surprises.

What is considered bespoke kitchen cabinetry?

Bespoke kitchen cabinetry means cabinets that are designed and made specifically for your kitchen, not bought ready-made from a store. They're made to fit your space perfectly and can be customized in terms of size, layout, materials, and features to suit your needs and taste.

What are the benefits of bespoke kitchen cabinets?

The main benefits are:

  • They fit your space perfectly, with no wasted space
  • You can have exactly the features and storage you need
  • They're made to be sturdy and long-lasting
  • They can be designed to match your home's style perfectly
  • They can solve problems like odd-shaped rooms or sloping ceilings
  • They often add more value to your home than standard cabinets

How long does it take to make bespoke kitchen cabinets?

It usually takes 4-6 weeks from when you approve the design to when we install the cabinets. This includes time for ordering materials, making the cabinets, finishing them, and then installation. Simple projects might be quicker, while very complex ones might take longer.

Are bespoke kitchen cabinets better quality?

Yes, bespoke cabinets are usually better quality than mass-produced ones. They're made with more care, better materials, and stronger construction methods. As Mike says, "I've seen kitchens where the cheap cabinets started falling apart after a year. Our cabinets are built to last decades, not just a few years."
