Less Than Two Weeks Until We're in Our New Home!
Emma here this time! Michael's busy measuring a kitchen in Sutton-in-Ashfield (perfect timing since that's practically next door to our new location).
Only two weeks left at Queen Street, and I have to admit I'm getting emotional about leaving. We've had so many great moments here - first consultations, families choosing their dream kitchens, even Cooper's first day as complaint department head.

Behind the Scenes This Week
The packing is in full swing. You wouldn't believe how much stuff accumulates when you're passionate about kitchens! We've got sample doors from the Symphony collection, hardware samples, worktop samples... it's like a kitchen museum in here.
The kids have been "helping" with the packing. Mikey thinks every box needs his personal inspection. Georgia's appointed herself supervisor of Cooper's moving process. The younger ones just want to play in the empty boxes.
What We're Most Excited About
The workshop space at Legion Drive is nearly ready. Michael can finally have proper storage for tools and materials. No more tetris-style stacking in the back room here.
But the real game-changer? That parking lot I keep hearing about from customers who've visited the new location. No more apologising when people arrive late because they couldn't find a parking space. No more cutting consultations short because someone's meter is running out.
Family Business Challenges
Running a family business while moving house (well, business house) and managing five kids requires some serious juggling. Last week, Mikey decided to "help" by reorganising our hardware samples by color. It looked pretty but wasn't exactly useful for finding specific handle styles.
This is why we operate by appointment only. It gives us time to focus completely on each family's needs without chaos in the background. Although Cooper has started scheduling his own nap appointments around our consultation times.
The Symphony Partnership Continues
Our partnership with Symphony remains strong throughout this transition. They've been incredibly supportive of the move. All our certifications transfer seamlessly. Our access to their full range of collections continues without interruption.
The new space actually lets us showcase more of their premium collections properly. Right now we're a bit cramped displaying everything we'd like customers to see.
A Personal Note
Michael founded this business because he got tired of seeing families let down by poor kitchen work. I joined because I believe in treating customers the way we'd want to be treated.
Moving to Skegby doesn't change any of that. If anything, it reinforces our commitment to growing responsibly while maintaining our personal touch.
We're not trying to become a big corporate kitchen company. We like being the family business that takes time to get things right.
Two Weeks of Memories
These last two weeks at Queen Street will be bittersweet. We've solved so many kitchen problems here. Helped families plan spaces that work for their daily lives. Even mediated a few "discussions" between couples about handle choices (chrome vs brushed brass can get heated).
But we're ready for the next chapter. Better facilities mean better service for our customers.
Cooper's already packed his favorite blanket for the move. He's practical like that.
