Michael back with you for our last weekly update from the Queen Street showroom.

This is it - our final week here before we shut the doors on June 30th and officially become a Skegby business. I'm writing this surrounded by boxes, sample displays half-packed, and Cooper looking very suspicious about all the changes to his territory.

Emotions Running High

I won't lie - there's been some unexpected emotions this week. Emma got a bit teary yesterday when she packed up the consultation table where we've planned hundreds of kitchen projects. That table has seen so many family discussions, design breakthroughs, and "aha" moments when people finally found their perfect kitchen style.

Even the kids are feeling it. Georgia made a card for the Queen Street showroom saying "Thank you for being our first shop." Laney asked if Cooper would miss his old napping spots (he probably will).

The Final Push

These last few days have been intense. We're finishing final consultations here while simultaneously setting up the new space. Andy's been fantastic - he finished all our electrical work at Legion Drive yesterday. Everything's tested and ready to go.

Nick stopped by to give the new gas connections his stamp of approval. As always, if it doesn't meet his safety standards, it doesn't get done. The new workshop area passed with flying colors.

What We're Taking With Us

Obviously we're taking our commitment to quality work and honest dealing. The Kudos Triple Guarantee travels with us. Our appointment-only approach that gives you our full attention - that's not changing.

But we're also taking memories. Like the family who drove from Derby specifically to work with us after reading our testimonials. Or the couple who trusted us to fix another company's botched installation. Or the customer who said our Jono "works like an artist" when fitting their worktops.

What We're Leaving Behind

Parking stress! Seriously, that's the thing I'm happiest to leave at Queen Street. No more customers arriving flustered because they circled the block five times. No more cutting consultations short because someone's parking meter is about to expire.

The cramped storage situation is definitely staying behind. Emma's excited about having proper space to organise all our Symphony samples so customers can really see the differences between collections.

The New Chapter Starts Monday

July 1st marks our first official day operating from Unit 3, Legion Drive. We've got consultations booked starting Monday morning (in that massive free parking lot - I keep mentioning it because it really is going to make such a difference).

The workshop space is set up and ready. All our Symphony materials are organised. Cooper has already claimed the best sunny spot for his complaint department duties.

A Personal Thank You

To everyone who's supported a small family business - thank you. When I started Kudos in 2022, it was because I got frustrated seeing homeowners suffer from poor kitchen work. Emma and I decided we could do better.

Your trust, your referrals, your testimonials - that's what made this growth possible. Moving to a bigger, better facility means we can help more families avoid those kitchen horror stories that drove me to start this business in the first place.

See You on the Other Side

This isn't goodbye - it's see you at the new place! We're still the same family business that believes in doing things right the first time. Still the team that takes problems head-on rather than making excuses.

Cooper's ready for the move (his treat supply is already transferred to the new location - priorities).
